It was a beautiful day on the lake as we visited a garden of rock sculptures, enjoyed the scenery, and spotted eagles and loons.
Well, we rented a pontoon boat and made a 50-mile round-trip from Kabetogama Lake to Kettle Falls. It was a beautiful day with nice scenery on the lake. But it wasn't without incident and we had to just go with the flow.
Today we made a little road trip to visit Waterton Lakes National Park in the southwest corner of Alberta in Canada. Waterton Lakes is connected to Glacier National Park, and today we took a boat tour from one park to the other and did a short hike in the northern reaches of Glacier in the Goat Haunt area. We had some lovely scenery and a couple of bear sightings in Canada.
On this boat tour in less than ideal weather, we saw a couple of Humpback Whales, several Atlantic Puffins, and a few other bird species we hadn't seen before.
It was a rainy day at Acadia, so I picked out a two-hour "Nature Cruise" from Bass Harbor on the quieter side of Mt. Desert Island. Seals and information about Maine lobstering were the highlights of this enjoyable little tour.
Everglades Grand Heritage & Birding Tour - Ten Thousand Islands Area - Everglades National Park - Florida
The only way to properly explore the Ten Thousand Islands area of Everglades National Park is by boat. And we found this comprehensive one-day commercial tour that allowed us to get a great feel for the Ten Thousand Islands. It was a boat tour, kayak tour, bird-watching tour, dolphin-watching tour, historical tour, eco-tour, and sunset tour all rolled up into one seven-hour trip.
